How are DataDots detected?

Included warning decals may be applied to your larger assets. The DataDot adhesive is also traceable under a blacklight. The adhesive will glow, showing that your assets are protected by DataDots.

How are DataDots applied to my assets?

Your DataDot package will include detailed application instructions. The DataDots are simply applied with the given applicator brush. Following the given instructions will make it very difficult for thieves to remove them.

The DataDots are so small, how are they read?

Police departments are equipped with a microscope to read and identify your specific DataDot I.D. number. If you purchased the Home and Business Kit, you may use the included microscope to read your own DataDots. To purchase a microscope you may visit our products page.

What kind of adhesive is used to attach the DataDots to the surface of the identified item?

The DataDots are suspended in a water soluble ultra-violet light sensitive adhesive. This adhesive can be touched in approximately 30 minutes and is fully cured in 48 hours. Once the adhesive is cured, it is virtually clear and water resistant.

Uh oh! I spilled the DataDots on something else, now what?

Don't worry. Since the adhesive is water based you can simply wipe them off with a damp cloth within 30 minutes.

What if I need more DataDots?

Additional DataDots may be purchased from us by visiting our products page. Your new DataDots will have a different number then your original package, however, you may register multiple DataDot numbers under the same name.

What is PAM?

PAM stands for Personal Asset Management. It is a software program that allows you to record your personal assets onto your computer. The PAM software is included in the Home and Business Kit or can be purchased directly from us on our products page.It is vital for very homeowner and business owner to keep a documented inventory of their personal property. Ok, all my assets are marked. How do I register my kit?

To register your kit you need to have your unique DataDot PIN that was provided in the kit provided. Simply click here or on the icon below to take you to the DataDot registration page.

What if I sell an asset marked with DataDots?

Please contact us to obtain an asset / registration transfer form. This will allow you to identify that you, as the rightful owner of an asset, has sold it. From this information DataDot will update its registration database.
